- This episode is a parody of Mary Shelly's Frankenstein.
- According to the original presskit, this was supposed to be the twelveth episode in order.
- The episode's name is a parody of Edgar Allen Poe's The Tell Tale Heart. Coincidentally, a similarly named company named Telltale Games acquired the video game rights to Sam & Max in 2005, though it did not exist at the time this episode was produced.
