Telltale Games is the episodic point and click adventure game developer that created the latest series of Sam & Max games. Aside from Sam & Max, their current projects also include Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People and Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures.
History
After LucasArts canceled the ill-fated Sam & Max: Freelance Police, some of the staff who worked on this game, and other LucasArts games, broke off from LucasArts to start a new company. Telltale Games was founded by Dan Connors and Kevin Bruner to make adventure games, which are no longer considered viable by LucasArts. They have continued to attract a number of former LucasArts employees, some of which are well known for their involvement in Sam & Max games and other golden-era adventure games at LucasArts.
It currently has a staff of more than 50 and are distributed in three different projects: Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures, and an unannounced title.
Other activities
In addition to the games, Telltale's online store sells a variety of Sam & Max merchandise, some of which they themselves produce. Most notably, Telltale arranged for and acted as the publisher of the 20th anniversary edition of Surfin' the Highway.
Telltale also hosts a Sam & Max series discussion forum. While mostly for discussion of their games, this is probably the largest concentration of Sam & Max fans on the Internet.
