Sameth is the great-grandfather of Sam from the 1910's.
He, along with Maximus, win a trip to Egypt where they are tasked with retrieving The Devil's Toybox for Anton Papierwaite. He and Maximus succeed, and fight off Papierwaite's betrayal. Later, they accidentally get killed by a passing curse in their basement, where Sam and Max find them years later.
The only differences between Sameth and his great-grandson, Sam, are that Sameth has a top hat, a mustache, a tucked in tie, a vest, and striped pants, while Sam has a fedora, no mustache, an untucked tie, no vest, and unstriped pants.
Unlike his great-grandson, who has a job of sorts, Sameth doesn't seem to do anything other than sneaking into theaters and stealing ketchup bags from restaurants.

Maximus is Sameth's best friend, and they shared a friendship similar to their great-grandsons, Sam and Max.
