Sam & Max as they appear in Poker Night at the Inventory (2010) and Poker Night 2 (2013)

Sam & Max appear in the Telltale Spin-Off series Poker Night At The Inventory and it's sequel, Poker Night 2.

Sam & Max's appearance in the Poker Night Series is one of the most iconic parts of the series, considering that they are characters from Telltale Games' most Succesful and Critically Acclaimed series in their Golden Age. This page lists and analyzes their appearance in the series.

They're in the game in character, but they also appear on cards, game themes, small pictures that are on the walls, and more.

Characters and easter eggs[]

In Poker Night, we have side characters and items appearing during the game, related to the main series characters that are sitting next to the table (Sam and Max). They are put in the game as a kind of easter eggs.

Sam in Poker Night At The Inventory[]

Everybody knows that Sam & Max are together in the second part of the game (Poker Night 2), and that Max plays alone in the first part (Poker Night ATI). But if you'll look closely at the beginning of the Poker Night at the inventory, you'll see Sam's posture while riding in the elevator. That means Sam is still there with Max, even tho we don't see him during the main gameplay.

Additionally, during the PAX 2010 edition of "Make a scene with telltale", a panel where audience members could contribute their own script and voicelines to make a skit with various Telltale characters, Sam and Featherly appear as main characters, while various other characters from the Telltale series make background appearances.

Momma Bosco and Girl Stinky:[]

While entering the room in Poker Night, Ms. Bosco and Girl Stinky can be seen sitting at a table, using their phones.

Bluster Blaster and Flint Paper:[]

In Poker Night ATI, Bluster Blaster and Flint Paper can be seen in the background. When Strong Bad loses a round, he goes to Bluster Blaster and begins playing on him, using Max's animation from Chariots of the Dogs

General Skunkape:[]

When you start the Poker Night 2 game, you can see that you're sitting in a car with General Skun-ka'pe.

Banang:[]

When you start your journey in Poker Night 2, characters give you a small trip through the Poker Night place. While you're walking with Brock, you can notice banang in a background. Banang is a pretty common easter egg used in TellTale Games series (Such as Minecraft story mode, Wolf among us, or The Walking Dead).

By playing in Poker Night 2, you've been able to get Sam and Max collectibles items for your avatar, or even your Xbox display! By playing in the game, you were able to get Sam's blue suit for your male avatar, and Black-Golden Shirt with Max's flaming head for your female avatar, by simply winning Sam's bounty item (Banjo).
