It's Dangly Deever Time is the 13th episode in the series The Adventures of Sam & Max: Freelance Police.

Synopsis[]

After their TV goes out, they try to watch a show on The Geek's antique TV and bring a Howdy Doody-like character to life.

In-Depth Synopsis[]

The Episode starts with Sam & Max violently and wrecklessly to their office, running over Hot Dog Stands, a Fire Hydrant, and almost running over three lobsters. As soon as they park their car, they run into their office and lock their doors.. But why? It's because Sam & Max's Favorite Show 'America's Funniest Film Tragedies' is currently playing a new episode on TV. Sam & Max have a strict and extreme viewing habit for their show, so they are exicted to watch it once again.. However, their TV starts to bug and break down, Sam & Max are panicked to see so happening in front of them! Sam & Max try to fix it with a defibilator, but it doesn't work. It seems their TV is too old and broken for use anymore.. Sam & Max luckily have a bright idea: Watch the rest of this show in The Sub-Basment of Solitude, thanks to a TV set by The Geek.

Sam & Max ride down a Cargo Pod to the Sub-Basment of Solitude, and see The Geek isn't here. They walk up to her TV and try to watch their show.. only to find themselves watching an old 1960s cartoon! Black and White Programming! Oh the Horror! Sam & Max, in a worried and panicked state with thought of missing a new episode of their favorite show, Sam & Max keep trying to change the channel, only to be greeted with more 1960s programming.. Sam notices that the TV set is heavily modified, with it's own control panel for it. Sam places Max on-top of the TV set and connecting his ears to two jumper cables, and starts to fiddle around with the panel, causing the big satellite on-top of their building to explode right into a utility pole, causing Max to get electrified and cause an explosion from the TV..

Thinking that the Geek's TV is broken and can't be used anymore, suddenly, Sam & Max meet Dangly Deever. Dangly is a Puppet-Like Character, who brings Children Laughter and Good Cheer.. Sam & Max obviously think a geeky character like him is a threat, and so, try to shoot him with Max's Flamethrower and Bazooka. After pouncing on him, and Max getting a splinter in his finger, Dangly speaks up and asks why here is here, and where he even is. Sam explains to Dangly what he tried to do with Max and the TV, telling him that he brought him from his 60s show to present day. Dangly is excited to see what the future of the 1990s has in store to offer..

But, quickly, Dangly is disappointed to see that The World has changed for the worse, seeing the New York Streets all dirty and not nice looking. After trying to impress some Teenagers, Dangly gets beat up, and comes in terms with the fact that the world as he knew it isn't nice anymore, and therefore he doesn't have a purpose anymore. He runs away from Sam & Max from sadness..

Meanwhile, The Geek comes back to The Sub-Basement of Solitude, and sees that Sam & Max have made a mess and screwed with her TV set.. However, she quickly sees that a sudden tiny explosion happens from the TV, and out from it comes Deadly Dangly Deever! Introducing himself and his gang of Evil Icons in form of a song, he explains that he is Dangly's Evil Side, and that now that he is free, he can now cause terror and ill-will around the place!

The Geek quickly finds Sam & Max, and they start to drive to find Deadly Dangly Deever to stop him, all the while The Geek explains what to do with him. Sam quickly finds Deadly Dangly Deever and his Evil Gang, and lures them by making Max wear a big happy smiley on his face.

One exciting and highly expensive chase sequence later, they go back to The Sub-Basement of Solitude, and activate a Vortex to suck in the Evil Icons. Sam & Max comedically launch the Icons into the Portal and sending them back, however, Deadly Dangly Deever grabs The Geek to harm her.

Luckily, the real Dangly Deever jumps and grabs his Bad Half to stop him from harming anyone. Dangly is excited to know he is useful again by stopping his evil half, and accepts that both him and his evil side should go back where they belong. Sam quickly kicks them both into the portal, causing them to go back and leave the modified TV.. With Dangly gone, Sam says he is going to miss his happy attitude, Max mentions that he can still remember him, and The Geek mentions they can watch reruns of his show to see him again. Sam & Max, upon hearing the word 'rerun' remember that they're missing their show, and quickly zap out back to their office to watch it.
